About me
My name is Michelle and I was named after my father (the feminine version of his name [Michael]). My two favorite things in this world are music and words. I love finding little independent bands and supporting them in anyway I can, even if I have nothing but prayers to offer. My favorite little bands that I recommend you check out (all can be found on facebook and other band sites) are: sosaveme, Mike Mains and the Branches, Definition Plexus, Oh, Sleeper and My Epic.
I love reading classic novels. C.S. Lewis, Fyodor Dostoyevsky and Donald Miller are my favorite authors. The Idiot by Dostoyevsky is hands down my favorite book but I don’t get to read nearly as much as I’d like to.
I haven’t had a very difficult life, my parents are not only still married, but very much in love. My father doesn’t miss a single anniversary or birthday and takes every opportunity to show my mother that she is still the woman of his dreams. I get my way with words from him. :) My mother is a self-less, loving person who has taught me to give and that money means very little without love. My sister is the funnest, smartest, down-to-earth person ever and is beginning her journey of being an amazing mother. She’s my best friend. We’ve had our rough patches as a family, but we are very close and supportive of one another and our friends.
I don’t know what it feels like to have my world ripped apart by divorce or abuse. If you’ve been through rough things, I will listen to you and be your shoulder to cry on, but I know I can’t truly understand what you are feeling because I have never felt it and I’ve asked God countless times why He has spared me from so much pain and allowed so many others to go through it. If I could do anything to lesson the burden you bare, I would gladly do so.
I want you to know that no matter what you’ve done or been through, you are one of the people Christ thought of when He went to the cross. That is your value. God came down, dressed as man, lowered Himself to the derogation of mutilation and the death of a common criminal on the cross, because He’d rather do that than leave us with no hope. Don’t ever think you are worthless because of what has been done to you, what you have done or what you’ve been told because on the cross Christ demonstrated that you are priceless.
For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
